Nurses with compact or multistate license can work in states outside of their initial licensed state. However, if you move to a new state and your nursing license expires, you will need to renew your license in your new permanent state. For further clarification on renewal, transfers, and other applications processes for compact vs non compact states please see the national website FAQs below.

This website has a helpful map that will reference which states fall within the NLC Jurisdiction and Status:

The best practice to view nursing jobs outside of your state or area is to open a web browser and go to the Nursa website (www.nursa.com). Click jobs and select your license type. You can then select the state that you would like to view jobs in. If you would like to request any of these shifts you should login to the website using your Nursa App login and request the shifts through a desktop portal rather than your mobile device.
