At this time, the Nursa App only accepts Certified Caregivers (CG) in the state of Arizona.
The state of Arizona passed a law in 2013 that regulates CG licenses. These licenses are verified through a state database found here. This is where Nursa Specialists go to verify all the CG certifications that are uploaded to our app.
*It may take 3-5 business days to verify your certificate.*
In order to best align with state laws, Nursa will only accept CG licenses that are newer than 2013 and can be found through the state website linked above.
If you received your CG license prior to 2013, you are encouraged to go to the NCIA Board website below, check the list of accredited schools, and re-certify in order to satisfy state laws for safety and compliance reasons.
Note – all schools in RED have online course options available.
What is the difference between a CNA/LNA and Caregiver (CG)?
Certified Caregivers (CG) are licensed to work in residential settings and pass medications, while CNAs are geared to work in a hospital setting and cannot administer medications. A CNA or LNA license does not supersede a CG license, however, it is up to the facility discretion if a CNA can work a CG shift in their building.
Can a CNA become a Caregiver (CG)?
The short answer is yes! Many institutions offer bridge programs that enable clinicians to take shorter courses for medication training. After successful completion and testing the clinician would then have an active CNA and CG license!
